For one-off illnesses e.g. vomiting, ear ache, cold, where you feel that you do not need to make an appointment to see the doctor but need a prescription, the receptionist will take details of the problem, including any known allergies and the name of the person who is going to collect the prescription.
Remember to let the receptionist know what you have tried already, including things you have bought and whether they worked or not. The doctor will decide at signing time whether a prescription is appropriate or whether you need to attend the surgery.
Acute Prescription Request and Collection
The Practice will endeavour to ensure that acute prescriptions are available for collection at reception
from 14.30 for requests made in the morning before 11.00
from 16.30 onwards for those made between 11.00 and 16.00.
Requests made after 16.00 will not normally be available until the following day at 14.30 unless in exceptional circumstances.
